Tomorrow we are saying goodbye to one of our team. This is uncommon for us, we are so lucky to have had the same team for so long.
JR was originally an extra on Game of Thrones S8, we first met him at a photoshoot and his personality shone through. He applied for the NI Screen Casting Trainee in 2018 and after one of the most hilarious interviews we have ever conducted, he landed the role of Casting Trainee with The Extras Dept.
He has always jumped head first into his role and the productions we are working on. As a lifelong Dungeons & Dragons player, he was able to immerse himself into The Forgotten Realms, schooling us all daily on pronunciation and lore of the certain characters. So much was his passion that he was asked to set for a featured role as a Zhentarim Guard Half-Elf, he had the full make up and was equipped with his elf ears.
Here's what we will miss about JR:
- Quick wit, sharp puns & Dad jokes
- Alternative & obscure music knowledge
- Band T-Shirts
- Daily photos of the food he has eaten
- Seeing how quickly he can grow his beard and hair
- Being our resident handyman
- His work ethic
- How he views and treats his collegues
- His enthusiasm
We know that all our extras will join us in saying a big thank you and a fond farewell to JR.
We wish him all the best for the future and hope he know's that the door is never closed.
With all love,
A teary eyed TED team.
